Want to change the color of the maps of TomTom Navigator (v2, v3, v5 or Go )? Well, now you can. It is possible to edit the .clr files, because it is just a text file with RGB codes. But that would be a hell of job. So this is why we made a tool to make it very easy to change the color you want. You can edit a scheme to have it the same colors of your dashboard.

Happy editing

15 new schemes !!
Yes Finaly some news. There are 15 new schemes ready to be downloaded. You can find them on page
3 of the schemes. We also made use of the wonderfull program TomTom HOME. With HOME it is
very easy to manage your PND/PDA. It is nou possible to download the schemes in two ways, directly
by downloading the .clr file of by clicking the TomTom HOME logo. The the file(s) will be downloaded
into HOME. And can be placed on your device very easy. Oh btw managing your PDA with HOME
will be possible with version 1.6 (beta at the moment). Have Fun!

New Preview screen...
We got an updated version of the paulUK version made by Paul Ainsworth. Paul already made his own
scheme and preview and now he made it even better. We like the preview so much that we will
bring it under your attention on the frontpage. Below you see the new paulUK scheme with the new preview.
Of course you can use the preview with all other schemes.

Finaly the new received schemes are placed on the site. Citroen C8 (day and night), Iaco (day and night), michelin and a  retro scheme.
These schemes can be found under the tab schemes2. Have fun!!

What's new in CSE 2.0?

Beside some bug fixes the following things are new:

  • We made help files in Dutch and English
  • Files have other extensions
  • You can use your own preview now
  • Help is for TT3 and TT5
  • Name has changed from Color Style Editor to Color Scheme Editor
  • When you double click on a .clr file in Windows Explorer, the file will be opened in CSE
  • CSE is freeware and will be free for ever!!!

As said we restyled the website and made it a little better. The clr files have a unique filename now, because TT5 can handle this now. When used for TT3, they have to be renamed to greys.clr for example.
We added some schemes too, so you do not have to download them after installing. Also a default scheme is loaded when CSE is started.
We also got a lot of requests for the default schemes by TomTom (greys, antartica, etc), so we placed them on the schemes download page too.

We hope that everyone will enjoy this new release as much as we do.

What is Color Scheme Editor?

Want to change the color of the maps of TomTom Navigator (v2, v3, v5 or Go )? Well, now you can. It is possible to edit the .clr files, because it is just a text file with RGB codes. But that would be a hell of job. So this is why we made a tool to make it very easy to change the color you want.

It was already possible to download other color style maps, but no tool to do it yourself.
Well some maps were an improvement, but still not what I really wanted. For example, I like the road to be like TomTom does (yellow with red), but I want my route to be blue.

And... wouldn't it be nice to have a night color style that perfectly fits your car's dashboard lights?
For example like Volkswagen has in its Golf and Passat.

Color Scheme Editor is programma running on your PC, so not on your device. The schemes can be used on any navigator device, like:
your Pocket PC (PDA), TomTom Go (all versions), Palm and also Windows Mobile (GSM/Mobile cellphone, PDA).

Below you can see a screenshot of our program.

Klik om te vergroten

Color adjusting is very easy. Just open the .clr file to adjust; change the color and save it.
Assuming you know how to "download" the file from your PDA. And it would be a good idea to make a backup first. When done, upload the file back to your PDA.

For example, I changed the greys.clr. After that you place your new clr file on your PDA, Cellphone/GSM or Palm, go to the settings in TT Navigator, and change the current color style. In my example, choose grey.

That's it, have much fun with this free tool!
